A 24-hour lockdown extended until May 2, 2020 in the battle against Covid-19, declare a state of emergency and that residents with the exception of essential workers must only leave their homes for food, medicine or gas.

..exercise his authority under section 14(3) of the Constitution to declare a state of emergency for Bermuda based on what is now necessary to intensify the fight against this virus to direct that Bermuda’s residents must ‘shelter in place’ for a period of extended until May 2, 2020.

"Shelter in place" means we must stay at home unless we must go to the store for food or medicine or to a gas station.

  • The only businesses that will remain open ?

    will be food producers or food wholesalers, retail grocery stores, doctor’s offices and medical facilities, pharmacies, gas stations, the ports, utility companies like gas and water will be available for emergency service; and banks on restricted hours and only to provide the most essential of services

Employees are reminded that during the curfew can only use their employee IDs to travel to and from
work and should not be used in any other circumstances.
